Dr. Lorne Dann earned his doctoral degree from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 1984 and completed his clinical psychology internship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham Medical Center. He’s been in private practice for most of his career, mainly with Alabama Psychotherapy & Wellness Center, P.C., until joining Pitts & Associates in April 2018. Although primarily he’s offered individual psychotherapy to adults seeking assistance with anxiety and other conditions, over the years he also provided educational groups on psychological topics, partial hospital treatment and planning services, consulting for a substance abuse clinic, practice management and policy development, addiction therapy services for veterans, as well as lectures periodically to community-based service organization staff and volunteers on grief, burnout, PTSD, communication with fatally ill patients, and other psychological issues.
Dr. Robert Pitts, PsyD – (205) 870-3520 – Website
Dr. Robert (Bert) Pitts grew up in Homewood and attended Homewood High School and Birmingham-Southern College. He did his Doctoral work in clinical psychology at Baylor University in Texas, followed by an internship at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York. Through the same medical school, Dr. Pitts also completed a one-year externship in Marriage and Family Therapy at the internationally renowned Family Therapy Institute.
