Dr. Ioana N. Shirley MD is a highly trained physician and a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Shirley brings 25 years’ experience in clinical psychiatry and private practice to her patient work, as well as 10 years’ ongoing experience as medical director of eating disorder centers throughout Birmingham, AL.

Dr. Montgomery-Barefield completed her Medical Degree Residency and Fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Tx. As a former Professor of Psychiatry and Training Director @ UAB, she dedicated nearly 20 years of her career training the next generation of psychiatrists. Dr. Montgomery-Barefield is an American Psychiatry Association Fellow and is board Certified in both Adult and Child Psychiatry.
